Blessed Christmas!

December 24, 2007 Leave a comment

NativityChristmas eve is tonight… we are spending our Christmas with our community which is actually probably the BEST way to celebrate the coming of the Savior.

My prayers for everyone is that they may reflect and remember (and for some, ultimately realize) the true and ONLY meaning of Christmas Day.

It’s isn’t about the shopping, the revelry, the parties, the vacation… none of that really matters.  May we all come to know that the greatest gift we could ever continuously receive during this special day is to be constantly reminded that Jesus Christ came down to Earth to save us from sin and to reconcile us with the Lord.

So, rejoice and be glad… Christ has come for you and me.  May He be at the center of our lives and the true reason of our celebration during this glorious occasion!

To everyone… A Blessed CHRISTmas and a Christ-filled New Year!

For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him might not perish but might have eternal life.

Kidz Life

I am blessed to have found God this early in life… just when my kids are still in their formation stages.  It’s easier to instill the values of faith in them rather than when they are much older and have lives of their own already.

I have been bringing my children to quite a number of “Kidz Life” gatherings already.  If you are not aware, “Kidz Life” is somewhat a kiddie version of Elim’s, “Team Revival” night.  The little ones are taught to praise God and to worship Him in a way that is fun, kiddie-friendly and enjoyable.

Games, stories and movie watching are just some of the things that they participate in during the event.  Lots of cool activities and interaction with other kid dwellers as well.

I actually took a short video clip during our most recent “Kidz Life” gathering.

Here’s a snippet of it…

Fun, huh?!  If you’ve got kids of your own and would like to take them to the next “Kidz Life” session, you can contact me by clicking here.  Or inquiring via Elim’s website.

Junior Couples Night

Me and my wife had the privilege of being able to join our very first “Junior Couples Night” yesterday which was held in one of our Elim Community member’s houses.

It was pretty exciting, being that it was new to me and that I always look forward to gatherings that talk about Christ and faith.

We had dinner with about 8 other couples… it was pot luck so we brought our share of dibs. Food was splendid! Dessert was wonderful! Everyone was so friendly and I had the pleasure of meeting other couples whom I have only seen from afar during Team Revival nights over at the Elim Homebase.

After, two trips to the buffet table and 3 trips to the dessert cake… we had a film viewing. The movie of the night was entitled, “The Climb”, a full length feature produced by Billy Graham. And may I say that, considering how cheesy most Christian films are, the production values of this particular film was superb. Cinematography, scoring… the works!

I knew my wife would have a hard time staying awake during the entire time since she has this habit of ALWAYS falling asleep in the middle of shows and films. But, with the help of my constant nudging, she stayed awake… hehe!

After the movie, we grouped ourselves into two. The husbands in one room and the wives in another. We discussed how the lessons of the film could be connected to married life… reflecting on struggles and constant challenges that come with family life. It was a very vivid and active exciting exchange of ideas through each others past experiences.

My wife and I look forward to more of these gatherings in the future.
